Brentford North - Sustainable Drainage

Closed 30 Apr 2021

Opened 12 Mar 2021

The London Borough of Hounslow wants to build sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) in the area of Brentford located north of the A4 (Brentford North), to reduce risk of flooding. We have identified Brentford North as an area with critical drainage problems.

More than 20 residents reported flooding in this area during our 2018 flood investigation survey. Most residents reported flooding incidents at the junction between Windmill Road and Whitestile Road.

Sustainable Drainage

Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) have multiple benefits. During and after it rains, SuDS can store and slow down water. This helps to reduce the risk of rainwater flooding roads or entering properties.

SuDS can improve water quality, air quality, recreation and community health and wellbeing. Many SuDS options create new green spaces and can increase the visual appeal within a local area. For an example of how the SuDS would look on a road, please click here

Why your views matter

We want to hear your feedback about SuDS in your area before we take any further action. Please complete the survey below to let us know your opinion. We will review your feedback and decide the best way forward for the proposed scheme. Your opinion will help us to identify the most appropriate features for your area and the best locations to build them. If this consultation is successful, another public consultation will be carried out before construction for the detail design of the scheme.

What happens next

The consultation is now closed. We will review your feedback and decide the best way forward for the proposed scheme.
