Hounslow Flood Reporting Survey

Closes 1 Oct 2022

Opened 29 Sep 2020

Overview

The London Borough of Hounslow has set up an online platform for capturing flooding incidents within the borough with improved accuracy and allowing a greater level of detail to be provided. Providing incident information to the Council in this way allows us to collate flooding incident records in a consistent way and investigate further where needed. If you have experienced flooding within the borough could you please complete the short online survey below. The survey platform will remain open indefinitely to allow for ongoing and past flooding to be reported in a consistent format. Records collected will remain confidential and will only be used by Hounslow’s Lead Local Flood Authority.

Reporting instances of flooding

If you are a property owner, tenant or an employee and have experienced flooding within or close to where you live or work, please help us by filling out the questionnaire. You can also report any flooding elsewhere in the borough should you become aware of any.

The form should only take a few minutes to complete. The questions asked aim to capture information such as the date, location, cause, and the extremity of a flood event. The form allows you to report multiple flood events at the same location at the same time, but please fill in a new form for floods at different locations. It is also possible to include attachments such as photos and videos.

How the information will be used

The results from the survey will improve the Council's understanding about the flood risk in each part of the borough. All information provided will help the Council with any potential future work to address flood risk in each area reporting flooding. The data collected will provide evidence to investigate incidents in more detail when they occur, provide information to residents or users of the areas at risk and update them on any action to be taken.  Under Section 19 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 the Council may investigate certain incidents of flooding. Please refer to the Council's Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (link below) for further information.
