In accordance with the School Admissions (Admission Arrangements and Co-ordination of Admission Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2012, admission authorities are required to consult on any proposed changes to their admission arrangements for a minimum of six weeks.

Why We Are Consulting

The London Borough of Hounslow proposes to introduce the ‘Children of Staff’ criterion as part of the oversubscription criteria for all Community Schools for 2020-2021.  The definition for this new criterion will be;

Children of staff – children of any member of staff, regardless of role in the school where:

  1. The member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application or
  2. The member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage

The current priority for oversubscription criteria is:

  1. Looked after of previously looked after children
  2. Exceptional medical/social need
  3. Sibling
  4. Distance

The proposed priority for oversubscription criteria for 2020-2021 is:

  1. Looked after of previously looked after children
  2. Exceptional medical/social need
  3. Sibling
  4. Children of staff
  5. Distance
