Closed 1 Aug 2019

Opened 21 Jun 2019

We are consulting on our draft Housing Strategy for 2019-2024 and would love to hear what you think about our proposals so far.

The legal framework for managing homelessness has significantly changed with the introduction of the Homeless Reduction Act 2017, and reducing homelessness in Hounslow is the draft strategy's first priority.  The draft strategy also prioritises our investment plans around fire safety and estate improvements and continuing the Pledge to deliver 5,000 new homes by 2022.

This strategy is underpinned by five key objectives:

  • Objective 1:  To reduce homelessness and its causes and consequences
  • Objective 2:  To provide a choice of high-quality housing for people at all stages of their lives at prices they can afford
  • Objective 3:   To raise housing quality and standards across tenures enhancing local areas and supporting thriving communities
  • Objective 4:  To support our communities to live independently by promoting health and wellbeing
  • Objective 5: To create a cleaner, safer and greener living environment.

You can read either a summary of the strategy or the full strategy by clicking on the links at the bottom of the page.
