Local Plan Review Volumes 2, 3 and 4 – Regulation 19 Consultation

Results: A total of 382 responses to this consultation were received. The range of responses was diverse. Whilst some elements of the strategy were supported, aspects of the consultation received a number of objections, including certain proposed site allocations.

Summary:

Hounslow Council undertook a statutory public consultation on Volumes 2, 3 and 4 of the Local Plan. The consultation took place between 30th July and 24th September 2019. The purpose of the consultation was to seek the views of residents, businesses and stakeholders as to whether Volumes 2, 3 and 4 are legally compliant and have met the Local Plan tests of soundness: been positively prepared, are justified, effective and/or are consistent with national and regional policy.

Outcomes:

All of the comments received during the consultation were logged, collated and made available to view on Hounslow Council’s website. The comments were carefully considered and based on the feedback received, some changes were made to the content of Volumes 2, 3 and 4 of the Local Plan.

At the Full Council meeting held on 10th November 2019, the Borough Council agreed to the submission of the Local Plan Review Volumes 2, 3 and 4 for Examination in Public by a Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.

In December 2020, the comments received were submitted alongside the updated Local Plan Review documents to the Secretary of State to be considered at the examination into the Hounslow Local Plan Review.

In accordance with the Planning Regulations, all individuals and groups who submitted comments were contacted prior to the start of the examination hearings in November 2021, to advise the examination location and start date, to allow them to attend or view the examination hearings. Once the Local Plan has successfully been through examination, prior to its adoption, the Council will also notify any person who asked to be notified of the adoption of the Local Plan.

Overview

Local Plan Reviews - Consultation

The London Borough of Hounslow is consulting on the Local Plan Reviews for the Great West Corridor, West of Borough and Site Allocations. The primary aim of the plans are to transform the borough’s opportunity areas, set out and allocate the required housing growth and other land use requirements for the borough and to produce policies for the determination of planning applications up to 2034.

We would like to thank you for your support and involvement so far and invite you once again to comment on our plans before we submit them to Secretary of State  for examination.

Once you start the response form , you can save your responses as you progress and come back to finish it later.

With best wishes,

Spatial Planning and Infrastructure team

What happens next

Thank you for taking the time and responding to the revised draft Local Plan review consultation. All of the feedback received from the consultation will be carefully analysed and considered in relation to the tests of soundness and legal compliance to inform the development of the Local Plan review, leading up to submission to the Secretary of State and the future Independent Examination. Once your comments have been logged, all names, company names and associated comments submitted as part of the formal consultation process will be made available to view on the Hounslow website. Hounslow will not share or publish postcodes or email addresses. We plan to submit the Local Plan review towards the end of 2019 or early 2020 and will get in touch with everyone who shared their contact details with us. With best wishes, Spatial Planning Team
