Cycle parking consultation - Cedar Court, Brentford

Closed 15 Apr 2020

Opened 18 Mar 2020

As part of the council’s commitment to encourage more cycling in the borough for daily journeys, we are proposing new communal cycle parking facilities at Cedar Court in Brentford.

This follows a request from residents who have limited space to store bikes within their property, and the proposals are shown on the plan below, alongside an image of what the shelter would look like. The shelter would provide covered cycle parking for up to eight bikes, via four Sheffield stands, to which residents would be required to lock their bikes securely.

Following an assessment of available space within Cedar Court, the proposal is to locate the shelter on the existing grass area between blocks 1-8 and 9-12, adjacent to the eastern wall of 9-12. The shelter itself is 2.1m high and 3.35m wide. The four Sheffield stands are the standard type of metal cycle parking seen in many locations across the borough, whereby they will be installed on a concrete base and covered by the shelter.

The council provides funding for the installation and maintenance cost of the shelter and stands. Once installed, the stands will be available for anyone to use within the estate at no cost.

We welcome your views on the proposals and would encourage you to complete the short online survey found below, by Wednesday 15 April 2020. If you are unable to complete the survey and require this information in an alternative format, please email quoting ‘Cedar Court Bike Shelter’.
