Great West Road Parking Controls

Following consultation and further engagement with local stakeholders, the council has been working with Transport for London (TfL) to implement the new parking controls. This process has taken longer than expected, but we remain hopeful that TfL will progress this scheme by spring 2020.

In recent years, the council has received a number of complaints and a petition regarding inadequate parking provision along the stretch of road fronting 419-445 Great West Road. Whilst the council is sympathetic to these concerns, the Great West Road is part of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN), and we do not have the authority to implement parking controls on the TLRN without the approval of Transport for London (TfL). However, all parties are keen to see whether there is majority support for such a proposal from residents and businesses, and exactly what form such controls should take (days, hours of operation etc.). If that support exists, detailed negotiation between the council and TfL will take place.

Why your views matter

The purpose of this consultation is to give you an opportunity to assess the proposals before indicating whether you would support them, and to comment on the proposed design. I would encourage you to respond even if you do not experience parking difficulties and/or are not in favour of parking controls. Before completing the survey on this page, please refer to the information letter and plan, which were sent to area residents via post and can be found below in the 'Related' section .

What happens next

The consultation feedback will be reported to local ward councillors, and area residents and stakeholders will be notified of the outcome and any future action in writing. Thank you for taking the time to participate in this consultation.
