North Hyde Lane Zebra Crossing

Closes 5 Dec 2022

Opened 7 Nov 2022

We would like your views on proposals to construct a new zebra crossing on North Hyde Lane.

The proposal is to convert the existing informal pedestrian crossing facilities on North Hyde Lane, east of Rostrevor Gardens, into a zebra crossing; with the aim of improving pedestrian safety, particularly at school drop of and pick up times when pedestrian movement is at its highest, and to encourage more local trips to be made on foot.

Parking availability would remain unchanged as the zebra crossing zig-zag road markings will replace the current “no waiting at any time” restrictions (double yellow lines) on the southern side and will occupy the space between the advisory footway parking bays on the northern side.  However, loading availability would be reduced as there would be no loading at any time permitted on the zig-zag road markings.

The location in question is shown below:

A plan showing the proposals, along with a copy of the consultation letter, can be viewed and downloaded from the “related” section at the bottom of the page.
