Proposed Junction Improvements: Wellesley Road/Burlington Road – Chiswick

Closed 7 Nov 2022

Opened 10 Oct 2022

Overview

We would like your views on proposals to improve the junction of Wellesley Road and Burlington Road for all road users.

What are we proposing?

The proposals include the following, and a plan of the proposals can be viewed in the 'Related' section below,

  • Raised side road entry treatments to create safer crossings for pedestrians at the side road junction and help slow down vehicles approaching the junction, as shown in the example below:

  • Extending the existing double yellow line waiting restrictions, which will remove one parking space outside 31 Burlington Road and one parking space outside Gunnersbury Baptist Church in Burlington Road, in order to improve safety at the junction. An additional space will be provided outside 32 Burlington Road.

Why are we proposing this?

By creating a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists we aim to encourage more people to use these healthy and sustainable forms of transport, whilst keeping traffic moving through Wellesley Road.
