Woodlands Estate CPZ Preliminary Consultation

Closes 3 Mar 2021

Opened 1 Feb 2021

Overview

The council has received a number of petitions submitted requesting the introduction of parking controls in response to indiscriminate and obstructive parking that has been occurring in some roads within the Woodlands estate.  The volume of non-residential parking has reportedly increased difficulties for some local residents and their visitors.

In response to these petitions, the council are commencing a consultation with local residents regarding the possible introduction of a controlled parking zone (CPZ) and, therefore, are seeking your views to determine whether there is support for parking controls and, if so, the extent of this support.  The consultation will extend to include the following roads: Abinger Gardens, Bridge Road (part), Clayton Road, Essex Avenue, Gibson Close, Riverside Walk, Sussex Avenue, The Woodlands, Woodlands Gardens, Woodlands Grove, Woodlands Road and Worton Road (part).

Why we are consulting

The purpose of this consultation is to give you an opportunity to assess the proposals before indicating whether you would support a CPZ. I would encourage you to respond even if you do not experience parking difficulties and/or are not in favour of the CPZ. Before completing the survey on this page, please refer to the information letter which was sent to residents via the post and can be found below in the 'Related' section.
